Contributing to FastMCP

Identifying a real problem is often the most valuable contribution you can make to FastMCP. A clear issue with a reproducible bug or a concrete use case is a contribution on its own. If it leads to a merged change implemented by a maintainer, you receive contributor credit for that change.

Read the contributing guide for accepted contributions, issue assignment, development setup, tests, and review expectations. The same guide is published on gofastmcp.com.

Agents should also read AGENTS.md and use the repository skills it lists. Report vulnerabilities privately through SECURITY.md. Participation follows our Code of Conduct, and contributions are licensed under Apache 2.0.
